Baseball Pitching Machines Info

Choosing a Pitching Machine

There are many different reasons for you to want to be the proud owner of a pitching machine. The problem: there are so many different models that it is hard to choose which one is right for you. There are two types of pitching machines: single wheel machines and double wheel machines.

The double wheel machines- these pitching machines are normally the most expensive as far as recreational pitching machines go, but they are the most expensive for a good reason. With a double wheel machine you have much greater control on the flight path of every pitch. The double wheel machine you can throw a variety of breaking balls including sliders and curveballs. Another advantage is that double wheel machines can throw at higher velocities than single wheel machines with some throwing 100 MPH fast balls. Normally these first pitch pitching machines can also throw ground balls and fly balls for fielding practice. Some disadvantages are that as mentioned earlier, these machines are expensive as well as the fact that these machines are somewhat large.

The single wheel pitching machines are generally less expensive than the double wheel machines. These machines have a slower top speed as compared to the double wheel machines. It is considerably rare for these machines to throw breaking balls. Most single wheel pitching machines are capable of throwing fielding practice as well as batting practice. Not all single wheel machines use normal pitching machine balls or baseballs, so it is very important that you check the manufacturer’s specifications for the recommended balls for each machine. Additionally, you may want to check the description of the ball to make sure it is a compatible match to the machine. Some single wheel machines are battery powered, however, these machines are not as powerful as there corded counterparts. The typical two to four hour charged battery gives the user more freedom on where to use the machine and aren’t dependent on if electrical outlets are available at the ball field.
